I have been interested in characterizing causes of vascular malformations for over two decades, and with our studies we have been able to demonstrate a genetic basis for both inherited and sporadic vascular malformations, knowledge that we -and others- now use to generate pre-clinical mouse models for vascular malformations. This helps develop targeted molecular therapies.
As a member of ISSVA since 1995, and now as a Board Member at Large, I enjoy promoting international collaborations in various activities including management guidelines and promotion of awareness to research and clinical trials. I also hope to serve as a link between ISSVA and the European VASCA working group, promoting coherent and efficient cooperation.
